Fancy driving home a car into the living room rather than into a customary garage? Holger Schubert’s Design Driven – Maserati’s competition winning garage design — just lets you do so. Hailing from Los Angeles, Holger in his garage design provides a minimalist environment, parking wherein the car can be seen as a piece of art and the driver can feel at home. The amazing 1200-square-foot garage instead of the basement is situated on the upper floor of a 1953 ranch style home, featuring a wide space for the car, open area for a couch and 47 solar panels on the roof for energy. The hi-tech garage is also fitted with a slide-away LCD TV, a built-in bookshelf, a small kitchen, bathroom and a library. A 9-inch remote-controlled steel ramp is built in under the floor, which rises up to create a slope for the car to be moved out without starting. Electric screens on the outside of the window walls help control the climate. Why do you need a house when you have a garage so gorgeous and equipped, but you have all reasons to think otherwise. Video after the jump.
