Racing cars breaking all the speed barriers on the Formula 1 racetrack may magnetize many a supporter, but it also brings the darker side of motor sports to the forefront and makes it vulnerable, as in case of Felipe Massa. who had a narrow escape during the Hungarian Grand Prix qualifier. Considering the gravity of the issue, F1 helmet maker Schuberth has proclaimed a revised version for the upcoming European Grand Prix, to be worn by Schumacher at Valencia, which will make motor sports a bit safer for the riders. Priced at $17,028 (€12,000), the next-gen helmet will incorporate a titanium disc at the transition from the visor to the helmet to resist impact in a better and safer way.
